Faculty Use
Guidelines
As
a member of the MSDN
Academic Alliance,
ABIIT is authorized
to provide you, a
faculty member
teaching courses
offered by the
Computer Science or
Networking program,
with program
software for use on
your work and
personal
computer(s). To be
in compliance with
the MSDNA Academic
Alliance program
requirements, you
must follow these
usage guidelines
when using the
program software on
your computer(s).
You must also agree
to the terms of the
MSDN master
end-user license agreement (EULA)
and any
conditions required
by the ABIIT
By installing,
copying, or
otherwise using the
products available
through the MSDNAA
program, you agree
to be bound by the
terms of the EULA
and the Amendment to
the EULA. If you do
not agree to be
bound, do not
install, copy, or
use the products
available through
this license.
Authorization
Guidelines:
- Faculty
within the
Division of
Mathematics and
Computer
information
Systems
are
automatically
authorized to
download program
software through
the electronic
licensing
management
system (ELMS).
- Your login
account name is
your Mercy
College email
address (username@abiit.edu.ag)
Your initial
password will be
emailed to your
mercy e-mail
address.
- The
authorized
faculty list is
updated at the
beginning of
each trimester.
If you are a new
faculty member
and require
access before
you are
automatically
authorized
please send an
e-mail to
bwarren@abiit.edu.ag
- If you are
teaching a
course which
requires access
to software
available
through the
MSDNAA license,
your students
should be
automatically
authorized after
DROP/ADD. Please
contact
bwarren@abiit.edu.ag
if
your students
continue to
report
authorization
problems to you.

Installation
Guidelines
- You may not
give copies of
loaned software
to anyone else.
Other qualifying
individuals must
obtain software
via the ELMS
system.
- In order to
install certain
components of
the product, you
may need an
Academic
Alliance Product
Key ("Product
Key"). The
Product Key will
be assigned
solely to
download
authorized
software. You
may not disclose
the Product Key
information to
anyone else.
- The IT department will
maintain records of software
downloaded from the server and
will provide those records to
Microsoft upon request.
Usage Guidelines
- You may use
the software for
non-commercial
purposes
including
instructional
use, research
and/or design,
and development
and testing of
projects for
class
assignments,
tests, or
personal
projects. You
may not use the
program software
for any
for-profit
software
development.
- When you are
no longer
teaching at
ABIIT you may no
longer receive
updates for your
personal use
computer.
However, you may
continue to use
previously
installed
products on your
computer,
provided you
continue to
follow program
guidelines.
- If you violate the terms of
the
EULA,
the IT department will require
confirmation of removal of the
program software from your
personal-use computer.
